Job Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for the cleaning of buildings, exam rooms, cafeteria, offices, classrooms and grounds of college properties, whether owned or leased. This position is Part-Time and operates weekday evenings, unless otherwise needed.
Essential Functions
- Performs such custodial duties as cleaning windows, ceilings, overhead pipes, floors, restrooms, etc. using a variety of cleaning equipment including brushes, brooks, dry and wet mops, vacuums, wet-vac, and other similar equipment.
- Lifts and moves equipment, materials and furniture such as desks and file cabinets within the same location or from one campus location to another, as required.
- Performs outside campus work assignments such as trash removal, leaf removal, snow removal, etc., as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- A minimum of three years’ general building cleaning experience.
- Able to lift and move equipment, materials and furniture of up to 80 lbs.
- Able to work on ladders, scaffolding or another elevated lifting platform device.
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to work weekends and other shifts as necessary.
- Available to work over-time as needed for special projects and providing coverage.
- Knowledge of cleaning solutions and their proper use.
- Able to follow directions.
- Able to work independently.

- Lifting demands > 50lbs

Additional Information
This position is classified as non-exempt, grade Y. Compensation for this grade ranges from $17 to $29.39 per hour. The offered rate for this position aligns with the pay outlined in the Union contract but may vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
