PRICING ANALYST
- Note that this role operates on a hybrid schedule and will be required to be onsite at our coportate location on the west side of Indianapolis 3 days a week.
SUMMARY
The primary function of this job is to create, analyze, and interpret, business unit, facility level and project specific profit and loss statements. Identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancements. Work with members of management to implement changes, leading to increased profitability. This work is usually done in conjunction with the Director of Finance and other high level management members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create monthly profit and loss statements for all ProTrans facilities
- Analyze and interpret monthly reports. Identifying positive and negative trends and relay their impact to management.
- Collect and develop monthly report for facility space utilization summarizing cost of capacity at each location.
- Create and distribute monthly reports highlighting cost variances within the transportation business unit and overall monthly spend by PTI transportation.
- Collaborate with facility managers to create trend graphs and metrics that allow for greater performance out of each facility.
- Communicate most vital financial findings to top management in a concise and direct manner.
- Create other reports as required by management.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, your team and the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access
- Strong ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to grasp macro-level business principles and apply them to situations when evaluating one certain project or business unit
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
This position should be worked by someone with a degree in accounting or finance. This provides the necessary background and less training by ProTrans to develop certain characteristics necessary to perform job at highest level.
