Summary

The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager will lead the highly visible learning and development strategy that includes a variety of programs that support business initiatives. This leader will design and deliver innovative, results-driven learning solutions for a rapidly growing workforce, ensuring that all employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to achieve performance excellence. The L&D Manager requires a strong delivery record with proven program management experience for a geographically dispersed workforce.

Essential Responsibilities

The Learning and Development Manager will be engaged in a wide variety of projects, working in collaboration with teams across our family of brands. These responsibilities include the following:

  • Strategic Leadership: Design and implement a comprehensive learning strategy that supports organizational growth, enhances employee capabilities and aligns with PlayCore’s mission.
  • Collaboration: Partner with organizational leaders and key stakeholders to identify development needs, ensuring programs and experiences are clearly defined to enable employee growth and career development.
  • Program Management: Develop learning experiences that embed principles of equity, inclusion and belonging. Assess the effectiveness of training tools and programs using key metrics that move the organization forward. Optimize the training budget through cost-effective vendor relationships and resource allocation.
  • Talent Management: Oversee talent management strategies including succession planning, leadership development, and career development programs tailored for all levels.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage PlayCore Learns programs such as new hire orientation, compliance training, leadership development programs, and external training modules through PlayCore’s Center for Outreach, Research and Education (CORE).
  • Facilitation: Lead dynamic learning sessions, including virtual and instructor-led training programs, as needed.
  • Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple projects with a high attention to detail and focus on change management and communication across the company.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Talent Development, Organizational Development, Education, Business Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in designing and delivering programs. Certified Professional in Instructional Design and/or Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar credential highly preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including training facilitation and public speaking.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to handle complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), web-based application frameworks, eLearning software and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to travel regularly, up to 25% of the time.
