Position: Assistant Program Manager

We are a small company looking for a talented and experienced Assistant Program Manager to guide our technical team as we expand our organization.

Description

FlexSys is seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Assistant Program Manager. This role will support program management activities for cutting-edge engineering projects, assisting with project planning, resource coordination, schedule monitoring, and subcontractor communications. The Assistant Program Manager will play a vital role in ensuring project milestones are met and align with our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation in engineering.

Job Responsibilities

• Support Program Manager in the development, planning, and execution of engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Assist with resource allocation, budget tracking, and schedule management to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.
• Coordinate communications between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and updates.
• Prepare project reports, presentations, and documentation to support project transparency and drive strategic decision-making.
• Assist in managing risk assessments and mitigation plans, ensuring that quality and safety standards are consistently upheld.
• Monitor project progress, identify issues, and recommend solutions to maintain the project on track.
• Facilitate meetings, document action items, and follow up with stakeholders to support project continuity and accountability.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in project management or program support, ideally within aerospace, engineering, or a related industry.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and experience with project tracking and reporting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required to satisfy DoD contract requirements
  
  

Highly Desirable Competencies

• PMP or similar certification is a plus but not required.
• Experience in engineer drawings
• Familiarity with PDR’s and CDR’s
