RESEARCHER ASSOCIATE

Position Summary:
The Researcher Associate will carry out laboratory experiments to enable research into the cause and treatment of autoimmune diseases. This will involve isolation of immune cells from mouse or human peripheral blood and analyze the genes and biological markers on these cells. The samples will be prepared and analyzed by flow cytometry, single cell RNAseq, real-time PCR and histological analysis.
As a Researcher Associate, this intermediate-level position will require you to independently conduct more complex studies and analyses, contributing to the advancement of research projects. With greater autonomy, you will design experiments, interpret data, and collaborate with senior researchers to develop and refine research protocols. Your role may also include mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Mouse handling including maintaining house colony and breeding with backcrossing and keeping records.
- Genotyping.
- Preparation of cells from mouse and human samples for culture and analysis.
- Ordering lab supplies and general maintenance including regulatory oversite, i.e. preparing animal protocol and EHS documents, biosafety documents, transfer documents, regulatory paperwork.
- Analyzes data and writes the results section of reports and publications.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $19.80 - $28.84
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred experience/skills:
- Highly motivated
- Mouse handling/husbandry experience
- Human and mouse cell culture experience
- Technical skills in cell culture
- Mouse model of immune system handling skills
- Knowledge of basic Chemistry of Lab reagents
- Degree in a Science field (ex: Chemistry, Biology, etc)
