Job Summary

Supports the day-to-day operations of the Inside Sales Staff in promoting sales and technical assistance. Participates in the marketing and sale of Border States’ products and services, provides input regarding pricing, products, competition and procedures, assists with various projects and greet sand assists customers and vendors who personally come in to BSE.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Customer Service Reps and marketing staff to meet and exceed Branch sales and gross profit objectives.
  • Actively participates in the marketing and sale of Border States’ products and services.
  • Consistently provides responsive, quality service to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Provides input to BSE personnel on customer needs or concerns regarding pricing, products, competition and procedures.
  • Assists with various projects throughout the branch including data entry projects using SAP, Email, Microsoft Office software and/or other third party software and other office related duties as assigned.
  • Greets and assists customers and vendors who personally come in to BSE.

Non-essential Functions

  • Attends training programs, as required
  • Assists with branch meetings, when needed.
  • May assist with orders and provide proactive customer service sales and service functions including order entry, expediting, pricing, and follow-up on customer inquiries, as requested.
  • May provide backup for answering the in-coming telephone calls efficiently and in a friendly manner.
  • May assist with the development of quotations and request bid or performance bonds for customers within company profit objectives and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a two-year business, accounting or office degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
  • Prior knowledge of general accounting duties, operating a variety of office equipment and a switchboard with the ability to perform various data entry projects preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English preferred.
  • Prefer good working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Internet, Email and SAP software.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills are preferred with the ability to effectively plan and organize.
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
