The Community Impact Manager plays a vital role in shaping and executing our strategic initiatives to enhance the community outreach programs for the Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye. This role will develop and implement creative programming, strengthen and build partnerships with community groups, and manage the teams' foundations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of community specific strategies and related work plans.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with surrounding neighborhoods, communities, youth, non-profit organizations, schools, military, and like-minded entities.
  • Create, implement, and execute a creative vision for community programming that aligns with the company's goals and values.
  • Develop and implement community outreach initiatives, with an emphasis on engaging underrepresented audiences-at-scale.
  • Manage the foundations' charitable donation program, including the process for awarding foundation funds and create initiatives to grow foundation funds.
  • Coordinate charitable appearances in the community made by players and front office staff, including but not limited to hospital visits, schools etc.
  • Be a positive presence in the community among individuals and corporations through participation in both internal and external events.
  • Plan and execute community events, programs, and partnerships.
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities for staff, members, and fans, engaging them in community service projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) plus years of Community relations, corporate philanthropy and/or foundation experience required, preferably in sports.
  • Evidence of the ability to foster relationships with partners, vendors, and internal team members and the ability to maximize those relationships.
  • Experience in establishing and building partnerships with non-profit partners and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies

  • Applicant must possess effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, excellent organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Profiecient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
  • Strong writing/editing skills for developing program materials.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and industry.
  • Operate well in a team atmosphere.
  • Desire to help the community.
  • Have excellent attitude and thrives in a highly collaborative work environment.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Constantly sitting working at a computer.
  • Frequently uses office equipment such as printers, computers, etc.
  • Occasionally bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching.
  • Constantly communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to accurately exchange information.
  • Game days/Community Programming may be outside in different weather environments.
  • Applicant must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a flexible schedule.
