Summary
Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Project Executive to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ. This individual needs to be experienced with mission critical and/or healthcare projects.
The primary role of the Project Executive is to be the project leader ultimately responsible for all aspects of the project’s success including a positive referral from the Clients. The Project Executive ensures project success through monitoring the processes, progress and results of the following: Client satisfaction, team effectiveness, employee development, financial goals, quality and schedule. Serving as the liaison between the jobsite, the Business Unit Leader (BUL) and the main office, the Project Executive provides the support and resources that are needed by the Project Manager and Superintendent to perform their duties.
Essential Functions
Participate in Business Development
- Participate in development, execution and presentations of proposals.
- Secure a positive referral.
Lead the Preconstruction Process
- Participate in preconstruction meetings.
- Oversee the buy-out of the project.
- Verify accurate financial forecasting.
Oversee Project Operations
- Supervise the process of project start-up.
- Oversee the development of the initial project schedule.
- Manage the strategic account process.
- Evaluate monthly project financial performance.
- Manage risk in accordance with company guidelines.
- Review and approve deliverables.
- Monitor budget, schedule, and quality.
Manage Human Resources
- Encourage employee growth by mentoring and managing development plans.
- Inform Business Unit Leader (BUL) overseeing project of issues and status.
Perpetuate Corporate Culture
- Assure that Company policies and procedures are implemented on the project.
- Monitor enforcement of project safety policies and procedures.
Maintain Client Relationships
- Oversee the finalization of any outstanding issues with Owner, Subcontractors, and Vendors at project closeout.
Promote Customer Relations
- Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
- Actively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.

Minimum Requirements
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position.
- Experience involving mission critical and/or healthcare projects.
- New hires are required to sign up for OSHA courses and complete them within the first six months of employment.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive construction related trade experience.
- Organizes people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Makes decisions under tight deadlines, sometimes with incomplete information.
- Demonstrates experience with project management systems and software as well as supervisory experience of projects with multiple Subcontractors, trades and equipment provisions is required.
- Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external customer expectations.
- Acts in a manner of integrity that demonstrates support for the company values and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
