OVERVIEW: The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Philanthropy in overseeing the relationship between Sacramento Children’s Home and individual and organizational donors. They are responsible for the daily accounting and processing of donor gifts into the database, processing donor thank you letters, processing in-kind donations, and providing customer service to donors over the phone and in person. This position is the first and last point of contact for many active and potential donors, and as such must maintain the highest level of customer service, attention to detail and knowledge about donor protocol and stewardship.
DUTIES:
- Administrative Support
- Oversees the successful implementation of the Director's Stewardship Plan.
- Provides administrative support and assistance as needed to the Director of Philanthropy.
- Manages mailing lists as needed.
- Compiles donor reports for the Director of Philanthropy and for other department staff as needed.
- Maintains a clean and neat office space.
- Copies and distributes reports, notices, forms, etc. as assigned.
- Orders office supplies for the department.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Ensures proper entry of donor names and contact information in Financial Edge and Raisers Edge donor database to ensure accurate reporting and prompt donor recognition.
- Accurately enters all gifts into database system (cash, check, credit card, in-kind, pledges, Internet EFT, etc.)
- Analyzes and researches each gift stimulus, assigns correct gift codes, enters constituent information into database, including notes and other information.
- Tracks donor acknowledgements and thank you letters/notes for the Philanthropy Department and CEO.
- Prepares gift acknowledgment letters, invoices and receipts. Works closely with the Director of Philanthropy when special responses are required.
- Prepares reports for Philanthropy staff.
- Oversees the accuracy of the donor database. Updates individual and organization records, makes address corrections, code changes, additions and merges.
- Produces standardized and customized reports and queries within the database.
- Maintains major gifts - information to display on lobby monitor. Manages memorial and honor gifts including recording, recognition, and additions to lists for wall monitor.
- Processes weekly, in-kind, and auto deposit batches with the Finance Department.
- Manages monthly reconciliation of Philanthropy and Finance department records.
- Manages the ongoing relationship with the Ticket to Dream Foundation and coordinates pickup and/or delivery of donations through that program.
- In-Kind Donations & Special Projects
- Receives, processes and codes in-kind donations.
- Ensures the highest level of customer service for each contact.
- Enters in-kind donations into Raisers Edge database.
- Coordinates and tracks the distribution of in-kind donations to programs.
- Contacts SCH program supervisors and managers to maintain updated Wish Lists.
- Develops & provides Raisers Edge training to department staff.

SALARY:
$23.04 - $25.92 per hour, to start
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is required. An AA or BA degree with a concentration in business is preferred.
Three (3) years administrative experience, including database administration and one (1) year of customer service experience with an emphasis on problem solving is required.
Experience with Raisers Edge and Greater Giving databases strongly preferred.
Driving is an essential function of this job. As such, employees in this position will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. A valid driver's license and minimum insurance coverage is also required. Must be at least 21 years old.
