What will a Material Handler do?
- Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
- Maintain agency, employee, and participants confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.
- Punctual and dependable attendance.
- Consistently and efficiently perform work tasks according to training, e-learning, and work instructions.
- Abide by the policies and procedures as set forth by Goodwill.
- Ensure security and protection of all company assets.
- Effectively communicate with management, peers, and donors.
- Effectively promote and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork with peers.
- Loading and unloading of Goodwill trucks and trailers.
- Operate all equipment safely and in accordance with training and operating manuals. This includes bailers, tippers, and compactors.
- Sort salvage in proper categories.
- Sort and prepare Dell in proper categories.
- Trash disposal.
- Operate a forklift, if requirements for forklift operator are met and successful training is completed.
- Meet minimum daily production goals.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area at all times.
- Adhere to safety and security practices including prompt reporting of safety hazards and injuries to management.
- Attend and complete all training and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Key Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills.
