Epic Clinical Outpatient Analyst
The primary function of the Epic Clinical Outpatient Analyst is to support the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of the Epic modules, focusing on specialized clinical workflows. This role ensures that clinical processes are efficient, accurately documented, and aligned with organizational goals. Analysts will work closely with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to design workflows and customize the modules to meet clinical and operational requirements, providing training and support to end-users. The analyst will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, creating detailed documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and configuration of the Epic modules ensuring they meet the specific needs of clinical departments.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
- Customize the Epic modules to align with the clinical and operational requirements.
- Design and configure the Epic modules to meet the needs of the healthcare organization.
- Conduct thorough system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure the system meets quality and performance standards before go-live.
- Analyze current clinical workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide recommendations for workflow optimization and system enhancements.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users.
- Provide ongoing support to users during and after the implementation phase.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, workflows, and procedures.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with transplant center operations, including the legacy transplant system and current documentation.
- Understanding of federal UNOS and CMS policies for solid organ transplant.
- Strong understanding of integration points within transplant. For example, scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, and inpatient, and OR workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with project management and delivering projects on time and within scope.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platform required.
- High School diploma with 5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
- Epic Certification in relevant modules preferred.
This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance.
