Veterinary Teaching Hospital

Position Summary

This position serves as a key support role within the Hospital Custodial department, responsible for training new employees, creating training schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring consistent, high-quality work performance.

Required Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Cleaning experience in a commercial environment.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Experience leading a team or acting as shift lead
• Experience providing custodial services in a medical environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and products.

Essential Duties

Lead Custodian

• Lead worker for Hospital Custodial workers, schedules weekend day shifts and week day night shifts for hourly staff.
• Addresses questions from staff regarding cleaning, sanitizing, and hospital procedures.
• Trains new hourly employees in custodial procedures and duties.

Hospital Custodial Care

• Clean and disinfect all surfaces to remove blood, feces, hair, tissue, urine, vomit, etc.
• Restocking custodial supplies
• Perform special clean disinfection procedures, as needed.

Assignment of Duties

• Assigns weekday night duties and weekend duties to employees.

Restocking of Custodial Supplies

• Furnishes clinical and kennel areas with necessary custodial supplies.

Other

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor based on the needs of the hospital.
