Description
NYU School of Law’s Grunin Center for Law and Social Entrepreneurship seeks a full-time, detail-oriented Program Associate to manage operations and expand its innovative programming, advancing the Center’s mission of using law to drive positive social impact.
This is an exciting opportunity to help NYU Law advance a movement that creates new ways for law and lawyers to drive positive change in the world.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Grunin Center’s Executive Director, the Program Associate will work with the Grunin Center’s Executive Director, Faculty Director, staff, and fellows in the following key areas:
Events
- Manage operations and administration for conferences and events including booking facilities and catering, marketing, responding to inbound inquiries, sending invitations, managing RSVPs, coordinating with speakers and organizers, writing program materials, ordering supplies, and liaising with NYU departments such as IT and Finance.
- Setup and manage Whova, the conference app that the Center uses to manage its annual conference.
- Edit video content from events and post on the Center’s website and YouTube channel. Ensure smooth execution of in-person events and webinars.
Finance
- Conduct monthly tasks including reconciling expenses, processing invoices, processing reimbursement requests, reconciling time sheets and payments to researchers and fellows, and updating the Executive Director.
- Conduct annual tasks including year-end review and managing reimbursements for the annual student trip.
Communications
- Communicate with Grunin Center stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, student groups, and practitioners.
- Create and manage email campaigns via MailChimp and professional communications on LinkedIn.
- Update and manage the website, LinkedIn page and YouTube channel; review analytics and update Executive Director on trends.
- Respond to inbound email inquiries about the Grunin Center.
- Create Grunin Center surveys in Survey Monkey, promote surveys, track responses and identify key takeaways to share with the team.
- Project manage the production of case study publications through engagement with designers, copy editors, and the Director of Case Studies.
Administrative
- Manage, organize and update the Monday board that contains all activities of the Center.
- Perform a wide range of administrative tasks including but not limited to making travel arrangements, supporting in-person board meetings, and posting and managing student opportunities on internal NYU Law platforms.
- Serve as a liaison with a variety of administrative offices at NYU Law and other University departments.
Other tasks as needed.
About the Grunin Center
The Grunin Center for Law and Social Entrepreneurship is the first center of its kind at a law school. The mission of the Grunin Center is to enhance the community of lawyers and legal institutions purposefully engaged in social entrepreneurship, impact investing, and sustainable development, and to accelerate their effective participation in these fields.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a professional setting managing multiple priorities, planning and implementing administrative activities.
- Higher education or academic experience preferred.
- Strong project management skills to manage the range of deliverables in any given week.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptionally responsive and adaptable, able to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, staff, fellows, and external stakeholders, many of whom are at senior levels.
- A passion for the work of the Grunin Center.
- Proficiency in Monday.com, Google Workspace, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Canva, video editing skills, and the ability to learn new software applications such as the internal NYU Law finance platform.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, graphic presentation skills.
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence one day per week during the Fall and Spring semesters, as well as during preparation and hosting of in-person events, including the annual conference in June.
