Front Desk Coordinator - Surgery

DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients. The Front Desk Coordinator performs and coordinates front office patient centered duties, including, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, authorizations, and referrals. The Front Desk Coordinator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff, and ambulatory care managers. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of three (3) years previous related experience including customer service experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
Strong problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.
Proven computer skills and ability to work between multiple systems during calls.
Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1) year in a surgery setting.
- EPIC experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Willingness to float to other sites for coverage as needed. Possible overtime.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $68,883 - $68,883 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.99 - $32.99
Factors in determining appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements.
