Camp Health Officer (18+)

Qualifications:

Possess American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers, or equivalents. EMT, First Responder preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises health and safety procedures on site.
  • Provides basic First Aid within the Council Medical Standing Orders and qualified Scope of Care.
  • Maintain First Aid Logs.
  • Ensure that the toilet facilities, meal service area, showers, and overall camp are clean and sanitary before campers arrive.
  • Check hot-cold charts daily.
  • Perform the medical check-in when campers arrive.
  • Inform the camp director of any potential health hazards in camp.
  • Any other duties assigned by the camp director.

Length of employment varies with job assignment. Some summer staff begins employment as early as mid-June and through early August. Applicants must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America or agree to become registered before employment begins. All employees will be registered in the San Diego-Imperial Council as Camp Staff and must agree to complete various training courses including Youth Protection, Unlawful Harassment, and Weather Hazards as well as have or obtain certification in First Aid and CPR/AED that is current and will remain current throughout the employment agreement.

Salary is based on position responsibility with consideration given to the individual's experience. Salary range $500 - $600 weekly plus room and board.
