Job Summary
At High Street, we help transportation agencies across the country navigate complex challenges through planning, programming, and policy services. We're seeking a Graphic Design and Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on transforming complex information into compelling visuals and engaging content, while ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across teams.
As a key contributor to our projects and business development efforts, you’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs, anticipate requirements, and deliver high-quality materials. You'll also collaborate with diverse internal teams and independently track and execute deadlines and revisions. This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate client needs to produce impactful designs and content that support the nation’s transportation agencies.

Primary Responsibilities
Since the needs of our clients are diverse, your work tasks and responsibilities will change based on current projects and tasks. You must be adaptable and ready to work in small teams to support task-level content. Work assignments will include developing layouts and graphics for public-facing documents, front-end web design, data visualization, data-based infographics, and presentation design to support projects and proposals. Annual base salary range of $65,000 to $80,000. Additional benefits include a performance-based annual bonus; health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance; 401k retirement plan; paid time off; home office allowance; flexible work environment, paid parental leave, and sabbatical.

- Design engaging handouts, reports, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Collaborate on UI/UX design for web-based tools and platforms, creating user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
- Adapt content and graphics to align with client brand guidelines while maintaining creativity and innovation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met for social media, digital, and print content needs.
- Use Excel to organize tabular data and develop charts that will be brought into design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Develop and execute social media graphics and campaigns to communicate project goals and milestones effectively.
The right candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s in a relevant field (e.g., graphic design, communications, web design, etc.);
- Permanent U.S. work authorization;
- Demonstrated ability to create well-designed and effective graphics;
- Demonstrated ability to develop print layouts in InDesign or Illustrator;
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work objectives; and
- Self-motivation to execute work independently, as we often connect remotely.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in developing content and visuals for public outreach and engagement campaigns.
- Proficiency in using a range of design software to create graphics optimized for social media and digital platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to tailor designs to meet the unique needs of diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with web design principles, including UI/UX best practices, and the ability to collaborate with developers on digital tools.
- Ability to adapt quickly to client feedback and iterate designs to meet evolving project goals
