Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Center Director to join our team! As the Director of Child Care, you will be responsible for selecting age-appropriate programs, activities, and curricula for the children in our care. You will also support the current staff, manage scheduling and office supplies, bring positive communication to the team, and implement new strategies to grow and expand our outreach. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of child development and education, and experience managing staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with State regulations, as well as with Keystone STARS
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate childcare staff, including teachers and assistants
• Oversee the daily operations of the childcare facility, including maintenance, cleanliness, and safety procedures
• Maintain open communication with parents, including regular updates on children's progress, addressing concerns, and holding parent meetings
• Develop and manage the center's budget, including allocating funds for staff, supplies, and program needs
• Promote the childcare center to attract new families and maintain optimal enrollment levels
• Respond effectively to emergencies and unexpected situations involving children and staff
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education
• Oversee and manage the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Past Childcare experience
• Associate’s Required, bachelor’s degree in education is preferred
• PA Director Credential preferred
• Demonstrate experience managing a team
• Deep understanding of childcare, child development, and education
