Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement

The University of Vermont, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the America East and Hockey East Conferences, is seeking applications for the position of Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator. The selected candidate will report to the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations and Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive marketing and promotions campaign for all sports with an aggressive effort to increase student engagement and fan attendance, working closely with the Director of Ticket Operations.
- Plan on-campus and off-campus promotional activities and generate marketing collateral to increase the visibility of the Catamounts athletic programs with students, faculty/staff, alumni, fans and the general public.
- Activate in-game promotions by working closely with Vermont Sports Properties (Learfield).
- Hire and supervise student staff and interns.
- Liaison to the pep band, figure skating team, dance and cheer teams.
- Create in-game PA scripts and coordinate MC of promotions on field/court/ice at athletic contests.
- Coordinate the Rally’s Round Up Kid’s Club.
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing special events for athletics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Two-Four years marketing and promotions related experience;
- Familiarity with a collegiate athletic environment;
- Ability to work with diverse groups;
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and select holidays;
- Experience with community development outreach and activities;
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail;
- Ability to work well with a team in a high-paced environment;
- Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel; InDesign or Photoshop experience preferred.
