myhousr is an innovative app designed to connect students with the local community, and we’re here to make student living easier and more exciting! We’ve just launched, and now we’re growing our property listings to help students find the perfect accommodation. Whether it’s off-campus housing, student apartments, or rental properties, we’re looking for the right person to sign up property owners and landlords who want to connect with the student market in Lincoln.

The Role

As a Property Owner Sales Representative, you’ll be responsible for finding and signing up property owners who want to list their student accommodations on the myhousr app. Your goal is to grow our property listings by showing landlords and student housing providers how myhousr can help them reach Lincoln’s large student population. You’ll build relationships, pitch the benefits of listing, and create a streamlined experience for landlords to engage with students seeking accommodation.

Where We’re Based

Our small, but growing team, is currently based out of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (Innovation Campus). As we’re an office-based team, we’re seeking someone who lives a commutable distance from the area.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Business Development: Identify and approach property owners, landlords, and student housing providers with available rental properties, and introduce them to the myhousr platform.
  • Sales Pitches: Explain how listing on myhousr gives property owners access to thousands of students searching for housing, helping them fill vacancies quickly and easily.
  • Tailored Solutions: Work with property owners to create attractive listings that highlight the features students care about—proximity to campus, amenities, price, and more.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with property owners, ensuring they feel supported and see the value of staying engaged with myhousr.
  • Account Management: After signing a property owner, you’ll maintain ongoing contact to ensure satisfaction and help them maximize their experience on the platform.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay informed about the local student housing market, including rental trends, popular student areas, and competitive offerings to ensure myhousr listings are compelling.
  • Growth Goals: Drive user growth by meeting and exceeding monthly sign-up targets for new property listings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and product teams to optimize the listing process and improve the platform based on feedback from property owners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Real Estate knowledge with Sales Savvyness: You understand the property rental market, especially when it comes to student housing and off-campus accommodations. You know how to pitch, negotiate, and close deals that satisfy both parties.
  • Relationship Builder: You’re great at building and maintaining relationships with property owners, landlords, and real estate professionals.
  • Great Communicator: You can clearly explain the value of myhousr and how it benefits property owners, answering questions with confidence.
  • Self-Starter: You’re a motivated, entrepreneurial person who can manage your own schedule, pipeline, and goals without needing constant supervision.
  • Local Expert: You’re familiar with Lincoln and know which areas are popular with students, which properties they’re looking for, and what drives their housing decisions.

What’s On Offer

  • Salary package: $35,000 - $40,000 (1st year expected double OTE = $80K total package)

Interview Process

  • First Stage - Exploratory screening call with our Talent Partner (30 mins)
  • Second Stage - Video call with the myhousr CRO (Craig)
  • Third Stage - We’ll set you a take home task, requiring no more than 2hrs of your time. We’ll make it fun, we promise. We’d then like you to present your task to our CRO (Craig) and CEO (Harry) during a F2F meet:
    • Part 1 - A chance for you to walk through your take-home task and for us to ask questions (30 mins)
    • Part 2 - Wider ranging questions about your experiences and motivations for working at myhousr, approaches to certain scenarios, working style and what you’ll bring to this role (30 mins)
  • Offer - If we think it’s a good fit, we’ll make you an offer!
