POSITION SUMMARY
A working supervisor; reports directly to the General Manager and assists with Housekeeping staff schedules and duties; orders supplies and equipment as needed. Also performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain Symphony Honolulu's premises in a clean, orderly, and attractive condition. Maintains housekeeping carts and linen closets.Please note that this job description is bound to change and be revised. Symphony Honolulu Management will update and change information when necessary. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Essential Job Duties
- Prepares and equips work cart. Replenishes used cleaning material; stocks cart with proper cleaning equipment, cleaning aids, and tools.
- Cleans and inspects assigned area of responsibility:
- Performs general cleaning chores including glass table tops and panels,
windows, furniture, and cushions. Vacuums or mops floors as needed.
- Empties rubbish receptacles; cleans and mops elevator landing area and cabs
and public/employee rest rooms.
- Moves and arranges furniture and polishes metal work, as needed.
- Inspects and cleans trash chute landings.
- Inspects and cleans BBQ cabanas, Social Room, The Lounge, Therapy Room,
Fitness Center and restrooms, Guest Suites and Pool Amenities.
- Performs detailed cleaning and servicing for all guest suites.
- Reports major discrepancies to Management.
- Records work performed daily. Enters and reports all unusual situations to Management.
- Alerts Residential Advisors of suspicious people in the guest area.
- Marginal Job Duties:
- Returns to the housekeeping storage areas periodically to ensure that the work cart is properly equipped and stocked.
- Launders work rags and other cleaning essentials, as directed.
- Performs other related duties, as directed or required.
SUPERVISION
- Supervision Exercised:
Exercises indirect supervision of all subordinate Housekeeping personnel.
- Supervision Received:
Receives direct supervision from the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Experience:
At least (3) years of Hospitality or condominium housekeeping experience required.
- Knowledge:
Ability to read, write and understand simple verbal or written instructions. Knowledge of the proper use of cleaning fluids and solvents preferred. On-the-job training provided for new hires.
- Education/Training:
High School diploma preferred.
