As a National Business Development Manager, you will drive strategy and growth with external and internal business partners while maintaining key relationships within multiple segments across Hospitality (Hotels), Healthcare, College & University, Business & Institution. You will own specific national relationships with existing and new licensed business partners and operate as a general manager. Your work will be broad, impactful, and highly-cross-functional. You will be responsible for new store development and portfolio management, program innovation and adoption, complex negotiations, technology solutioning, and supporting Starbucks world-class Retail Operations team.

As a National Business Development Manager, you will…

  • Strategically deepen and expand partnerships
  • Develop and deliver a robust pipeline of new stores
  • Negotiate and implement complex agreements
  • Foster cross functional collaboration & program implementation

We’d Love To Hear From People With

  • Franchise development and/or licensing experience, preferably in the non-traditional environment (7+ years)
  • Direct experience negotiating complex agreements and contracts with executives (5+ years)
  • Strategic account management with key external partnerships at retail food & beverage companies, Fortune 500 and/or premium/luxury brands (5+ years)
  • General management: application of multi-disciplinary business practices (e.g. marketing, strategy, finance, store development, operations) (5+ years)
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving capabilities
  • Extraordinary ability to build relationships cross functionally with both internal and external teams
  • Expertise at simplifying complicated material to communicate in a concise and effective way
  • Ability to influence leaders in significant investment decisions and change management
  • Ability to adapt strategies and plans, and thrive in an ambiguous environment
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
