We operate three vibrant brick and mortar markets - one on Cole and Parnassus in the heart of Cole Valley, a second in Cow Hollow on Union St., and our third & newest location on Green St. in North Beach. Luke’s offers a same-day grocery delivery and pick-up service from both locations. About the Job

As Floor Supervisor, you will support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in maintaining smooth and efficient floor operations. Your job will consist of having your hand in all aspects of store operations, from stocking produce and grocery shelves to barista/deli support, cheese production, cashiering, and team leadership. We encourage a team mentality at Luke’s, and all staff often assist each other based on the demands of the day. A positive attitude, team mentality, and eagerness to learn is a must.

  • Store Leadership
    • Work closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to lead the store team.
    • Respond to challenging situations positively and professionally, always with a solution-oriented mindset.
    • Demonstrate consistent work attendance.
    • Communicate and collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, and/or outside contacts in a timely and appropriate manner.
    • Complete goals on time, meeting established deadlines.
  • Floor Supervision
    • Maintain regular presence on the floor to ensure all store departments are supported.
    • Oversee excellent customer service.
    • Distribute work evenly among all staff.
    • Train staff in coordination with Shift Leadership and under the direction of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
    • Maintain a positive environment for all staff.
    • Oversee accurate tracking and reporting of waste.
    • Perform EOD cash count as needed.
    • Participate in mandatory quarterly store-wide inventory counts.
  • Maintenance
    • Facilitate communication from floor teams to Store Leadership about any supplies and equipment needs.
    • Keeping a clean and consolidated walk-in and pantry.
    • Ensure everything is labeled correctly for customers and compliance with health code regulations.
    • Ensure food safety standards are being met.
    • Audit cleaning service to ensure scope is being covered.
    • Manage deep clean schedules for staff.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the professional development of Cashiers and Cashier Shift Leads.
  • Work with Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager to supervise and oversee the professional development of all floor staff.

Work environment

  • Office and sales floor of retail grocery stores

Physical demands

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to spend 6-8 hours per day on your feet
  • Stooping, bending, lifting, standing for long periods, stretching, twisting, reaching, repetitive stocking motions, and food prep motions.
  • Stocking of shelves and merchandising displays, sometimes from a ladder.
  • Handling of refrigerated product in a cold environment for extended periods.

Required education and experience

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience with retail, preferably grocery
  • Experience with food preparation, service, and safety

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older

Pay Range

$25-28/hour
