8th Grade Teacher

Christ the King Catholic School is seeking a full time 8th grade teacher for the 24/25 school year. Christ the King Catholic School is a multiage elementary school and has been educating children in Northwest Detroit.

We are looking for an innovative individual passionate about teaching children in a vibrant and ever-changing school environment.

Our class sizes at Christ the King are 15 to 1.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develops and implements a well-planned, standards-based curriculum
• Consistently creates a high level of active student engagement and student-led learning
• Develops and uses effective methods of evaluation that are directly related to curriculum objectives and to concepts and skills taught; consistently and effectively evaluate student progress
• Oversees the planning and implementation of the classroom
• Establishes a classroom atmosphere of caring respect and appropriate expectations, which promotes self-direction and confidence; sets high standards for student behavior and manages inappropriate behavior effectively and respectfully
• Communicates regularly with families and implements clear communication systems
• Cooperates with school administration; works effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents
• Completes additional operational and professional responsibilities and duties as needed
