About Us:
Centennial Academy is a conversion charter school in Atlanta that educates scholars from kindergarten through 8th grade, creating strong partnerships that support an expansive curriculum.

Job Summary:
The custodian provides custodial services to ensure a sanitary and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties include special cleaning operations and preparing facilities for activities and events.

Essential Duties:

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Prepare spaces for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces
• Perform floor care functions such as waxing, stripping, and buffing
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks, and restock disposables
• Wipe mirrors, windows, doors, desks, and chairs
• Maintain beautification of outer premises
• Utilize insecticides to prevent pest infestation
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs
• Report major damages and oversee repairs
• Work with team members to complete daily tasks
• Secure facilities after operating hours
• Undertake miscellaneous custodial tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred
• Proven experience as a custodian or similar role
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment maintenance
• Safe disposal of chemical liquids knowledge
• Familiarity with landscaping and handyman practices
• Ability to lift 50lbs to 75lbs
• Experience in floor stripping, waxing, and buffing
• Experience in moving furniture, over 50 pounds
• Experience in school maintenance work
• Must pass a background check
