Safety Specialist

We are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our Woodson Tree LLC team.

Job Duties:

Conduct safety visits on distribution, DOT vegetation management crews daily. Specifically looking for compliance with:

• Checking crew pre-job briefing for accuracy and detail for the site
• Working in a safe overall manner
• Use of appropriate PPE
• Adherence to OSHA and ANSI regulations
• Adherence to MAD
• Proper work area protection
• Proper “fell/drop zone” delineation
• All climbing equipment is in safe condition
• Fall protection being properly used by bucket operator
• Proper labels on chemical products and knowledge of their use and recordkeeping
• Proper safety equipment on all vehicles - complete and up to date
• Use of outrigger pads and wheel chocks
• Trailers and chippers properly attached to the tow vehicle
• All equipment in good operating condition and operator knowledgeable of safe operation
• All other safety-related items as related to working near energized conductors

Requirements:

• Safety observation experience preferred.
• Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities, and show attention to detail
• 2+ years prior Utility Vegetation Safety experience preferred
• Knowledge of line clearance safety standards (ANSI A300; ANSI Z133.1) and federal safety requirements (OSHA CFR 1910.269)
• Support storm restoration efforts as needed
• Training experience
• Previous Line Clearance experience a plus
• Certification as an ISA Arborist a plus
• 90% travel
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

Expected Hours of Work:

The hours are subject to change based on business requirements and per company policy.
