GPD is excited to expand our professional surveying services into the Louisville, KY market and is looking to hire a Project Surveyor. GPD Group prides itself on being a forward-thinking company that includes the use of traditional survey paired with newer technologies in UAV and LiDAR. This Field Surveyor will share a passion for innovation, survey expertise and lead the field effort in our Louisville, KY office for the Survey team.
Role Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Survey/Civil Engineering Technology a plus.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the Survey industry, primarily in the field.
- General proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software (i.e., MicroStation, Inroads, Civil3D) with a willingness to expand on drafting skillset in the office.
- Ability to work independently in the field and interested in training on survey basemapping.
- Experience with Laser Scanning and UAS technologies a plus.
- Ability to operate motorized equipment.
- Ability to work 8-10 hours outdoors under various field conditions with exposure to heat, cold, and other possible adverse conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of equipment from work truck to site for surveying use.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
- Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communication while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
Key Responsibilities:
- Field work in our Survey group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline: this includes all practices/market sectors that GPD services: Public Works, Transportation, Roadway, Traffic, etc.
- Utilizing our newer Survey technology equipment to execute strategic actions aligned with both Survey and GPD Group goals: GPD is looking for a go-getter that is passionate about driving results for the company and working on a collaborative Survey team to support field efforts. They would coordinate with other professional surveyors and project teams to complete project scope and schedule on time and within GPD’s quality standards.
- Hybrid technical project work includes all aspects of surveying including (but not limited to) execution of field work, drafting of topographic surveys. It will also encompass preparing surveying documents, researching past survey maps and deeds.
