This dual-role position involves managing employee benefits programs and assisting with payroll processing to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely compensation and benefits administration.
Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:
Performance Mechanical Inc., a leading industrial contractor specializing in mechanical construction and maintenance, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Benefits Coordinator and Payroll Clerk to join our team. This dual-role position involves managing employee benefits programs and assisting with payroll processing to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely compensation and benefits administration.
Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and provide timely, accurate information to employees.
- Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits plans, ensuring accuracy in all documentation and systems.
- Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment, including preparing materials, hosting informational sessions, and assisting employees with selections.
- Handle leave administration, including FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Prepare and submit required reports such as ACA, EEO, and AAP reports.
- Process of weekly payroll for employees.
- Verify employee time records and ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employee information.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax reporting and garnishments.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Education: Associate's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration and payroll processing or similar roles.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of benefits programs and payroll regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, and tax codes).
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP, or CEBS certification is a plus.
