We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supervisor Merchandising to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of merchandisers, ensuring the successful planning, product selection, and execution of annual and seasonal product assortments for client e-commerce programs, by training staff, implementing merchandising plans, and collaborating with other departments to maximize sales, evaluate & enhance current processes and provide solution-based support. This role is crucial in driving sales, maintaining SKU counts, achieving profitable margins, aligning team to business goals and ensuring overall AE & client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coaching and development of Merchandisers to foster professional growth and enhance service delivery; continually assessing individual skill levels and providing continued training & education.
  • Train and onboard new Merchandisers.
  • Assign and actively track the progress of projects, making necessary adjustments as needed, to guarantee that projects are completed on time and according to the client requirements, profitability goals, and quality standards, by carefully selecting the most suitable individual to handle each project based on their skills and availability.
  • Assess individual and team performance on projects to identify areas for improvement and inform future assignments.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project success.
  • Foster collaboration and mentorship within your team to align efforts and achieve business goals.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of program merchandising; providing leadership and guidance on reporting, trend analysis, assortment planning, product sourcing, profitability enhancement, client & brand management, administrative duties, compliance and quality assurance.
  • Lead the team in the continual enhancement of high-quality product assortment decks and client presentations & meetings.
  • Guide the team by proactively identifying, understanding and developing solutions for new and uncharted client needs by initiating and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships to coordinate with all stakeholders, including the Sales team, the Product Management team, the Inventory team, the Merchandising Operations team, and the Category Merchant team to resolve a variety of issues and provide status updates on deliverables and project milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of retail merchandising or product development experience.
  • Proven track record in working with accounts or to deliver profitable and relevant ecommerce or retail assortments, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire towards success.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the MS Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator and related software products. Jira & Smartsheet experience a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of retail math, financial parameters and applications needed to drive profitability results with the ability to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to conclusions based on the findings--including a working knowledge of gross margin and assortment planning.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional demeanor, good judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Able to effectively challenge the status quo and discover opportunities for continuous development and improvement of our team, methods, interactions, and projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate situations, identify core issues, and promote thoughtful business solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, make independent decisions with little supervision while managing resources prudently and showing initiative with a professional aggressive attitude.
  • Ability to attend National tradeshows, pop-up shops, and annual sales meetings 7-10x annually. This requires walking for long length of time, lifting, standing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of licensing business a plus.
  • 1+ years of Team Lead and/or Supervisory experience.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000 annually. Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and reflects a broad spectrum of labor markets across the US. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, compensation decisions are influenced by various factors.
