Overview
The Athletic Trainer, reporting to the Head AT, will provide evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical issues. In collaboration with all coaching and medical staff, the AT will promote and deliver the highest standard of player care.

Overview
The Athletic Trainer, reporting to the Head AT, will provide evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical issues. In collaboration with all coaching and medical staff, the AT will promote and deliver the highest standard of player care.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the medical team, the AT provides player care, including: first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals
- Electronically complete required documentation
- Comply with OSHA standards with regard to blood born pathogens
- Keep training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized
- Assist Head AT in maintaining a complete and up to date roster of player health and participation records in the Healthy Roster electronic medical record system
- Assist Head AT in reporting insurance/worker’s compensation claims for players to front office staff
- Compile reports as required by NWSL and team leads
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, other team personnel and NWSL staff
- Comply with all NWSL medical policies, protocol and Game Operations Manual
- Counsel players in regard to dietary needs, nutritional supplements and League/FIFA banned substances
- Participate in community service/educational programs related to sports medicine
- Participate in activities/meetings/programs as required by NWSL
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
- NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer
- In good standing with NATABOC and a member of the NATA (or CATA)
- State License in California
- Current professional CPR certification
- Possess personal professional liability insurance
- Minimum four (4) year college/university Bachelor’s Degree
- Masters Degree in related health care field or license or registered physical therapist
- Two years certified athletic trainer experience in a sports environment, preferably with soccer team sports
- Experience with elite level athletes
- Experience working in a high tempo, high stress environment
- Soccer experience preferred
- All-hands-on-deck attitude
- Passion for the success of Women’s Professional Sports and appetite for an exciting new sports landscape
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including schedule home game that can/will be weekends, evenings and perhaps holidays.
