Seeking a motivated Wastewater Operator to join our team. Responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the wastewater treatment facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and underground sewer system. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor. In the absence of the wastewater treatment operator, another wastewater treatment operator will serve as backup.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Starting pay of $28.00/hour and will be based on experience.
    • Night Shift Premium: additional $3/hr
  • Schedule: 12 hours on shift, 3 ½ days a week, Sun-Wed or Wed.-Sat.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management. Load, unload, stage, and store product using various powered industrial trucks.
  • Perform the installation, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and their components. Prepare and complete all customer orders including related documentation.
  • Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery.
  • Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Georgia Wastewater License, or Reciprocal Wastewater License from another state required.
  • Have a working knowledge of the operation, methods, and procedures of a wastewater treatment plant.
  • Be able to perform and document various tests required by State and Federal agencies for the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry.
  • Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal directions, signs, policies and procedures.
  • Proficient math and mechanical skill.

  • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail, neatness, and follow through.
  • Demonstrate communication, organization, and listening skills.
  • Previous maintenance and/or manufacturing experience a plus.
