Description
The Sr. Producer leads cross-discipline teams across one or more projects and acts as the central point of contact between clients, studio leadership, the project team, and all stakeholders. Ensures development is coordinated so projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet or exceed quality expectations.
Day To Day
Responsibilities
- Own the estimation, budgeting, planning, prioritization, and scheduling of tasks related to the development of software projects, from concept to release and live operations
- Track project schedules and budgets against contractual commitments
- Identify critical path risks and issues, develop and implement mitigation plans as necessary
- Drive and improve project development pipeline and workflow
- Provide clear project vision, goals, and objectives to the project team and stakeholders
- Facilitate communication and coordination between internal/external project resources to eliminate roadblocks and ensure successful task completion
- Senior-level project hard/soft skills, including but not limited to, Analytics and ROI-informed recommendations and decision-making, contract review and management, cost analysis
- Work with project team and QA to manage bug assignment, priority-setting, and progress towards resolution
- Provide regular status reports, communicates progress and risk to studio leadership
- Complete project retrospectives/post mortems as assigned
- Drive department processes through documentation and advocacy, work with Production Director to refine and optimize existing processes and/or create new processes as needed
- Provides Producer mentorship and training as needed
Must Haves
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional project management practices and software expertise
- Ability to provide critical feedback on projects against goals and strategies
- Ability to resolve conflict both on the team and between the team and client
- Growth mindset/learns from mistakes
- Proactive about customer needs
- Curiosity about the gaming industry as a whole, and other PW projects
- Able to maintain composure and poise in a stressful, fast-paced, ever-changing dev environment
- Self-motivated, managed, and organized
- Capable of working with and managing a team in a hybrid (mixture of on-site and off-site) work environment
- Deep understanding of the development process in all discipline areas
- Financial and business acumen
- Motivated by careful, objective, & detail-oriented work
- Ability to motivate very large and or multiple teams to perform at a high level
- Expert use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Jira, and Confluence including generating reports and charts
- Professional Experience with Unity, Unreal or other game engines
- Strong interest in the industry and a desire to create high-quality interactive experiences with an eye toward a successful product launch
- Experience in a Live Operations environment in a Production role
- PMI PMP Certification
- At least 5 years of experience in a software development Producer and/or Project Manager role
- Certificate of completion of Game Development or any University degree, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous experience with video game development, including completing five development cycles (Pre-production, Production, Post Production, Live support) and shipping of at least five (5) titles.
