RN Float Pool Critical Care (ICU), West Penn Hospital
West Penn Hospital’s Float Pool are highly trained expert RN’s who cover all areas of their specialty and clinical expertise. There is a variety of types of patients we receive and the level of acuity in the departments. This grouping includes the 16-bed Surgical ICU/Burn unit caring for both adult and pediatric patients as well as the 14-bed Medical Surgical ICU caring for sepsis, general, DKA, and obstetric ICU patients.
Qualifications:
- 2 years acute care nursing experience required in ICU
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association preferred
- NIH Stroke certification preferred
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
