Starting pay: $24.21/hr. Final pay is dependent on a candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Summary Of Responsibilities

In compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, the MLO Assistant will work closely with assigned loan officer(s) to assist and ensure the timely submission of complete loan application files for underwriting review and/or for submission to the loan processing team, specifically in relation to the WISH program. The MLO Asst. will review application packages submitted by TruWest Credit Union Mortgage Loan Officers for first-time homebuyers who are applying to receive down payment assistance from the WISH Program. Proactively coordinates and communicates with the borrower, the referral partner and other mortgage departments, to ensure a smooth loan application process for the member and ultimately produces a high-quality loan submission file for the mortgage departments, and excellent member experience. The MLO Asst. will also work with the prospective homebuyers and their representatives including interpreters, non-profit partners, realtors and City and Housing Agency employees, when applicable, in order to collect any additional documentation that will be needed.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of lending experience or comparable work within a financial institution, preferably working loan processing, borrower communication, and guideline knowledge. Prior sales experience a plus.

  • Ability to analyze a credit report and income documentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, especially MS Excel

Lead To Processing

  • Assist loan officer in pre-qualifying the borrower by assisting the LO during the loan application process, requesting a document needs list, following up on missing items from borrower to complete loan application
  • Excellent monitoring and tracking skills related to the mortgage pipeline
  • Strong typing skills and math skills
  • Manage pipeline to meet all contract deadlines
  • Review income docs and calculate income
  • Meet with borrowers to review documentation and/or sign loan disclosures
  • Update third-party referral partners and borrowers at every milestone of the loan application.
  • Request documentation from the borrower related to Underwriting conditions.
  • Confident and adept in communicating through an interpreter.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
