The Role at a Glance – Bill Jacobs Volkswagen Sales Manager
We are excited to add a Sales Manager to join our team. If you are a driven, results-focused leader with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial mindset, this role offers excellent opportunities for career growth and increased earning potential.
What You Will Be Doing
- Desking Deals: Efficiently and proficiently desk multiple deals at once using CDK web-desking. Expertise in CDK or similar systems is highly appreciated. The ability to balance accuracy, speed, and negotiation is essential to maximize deal profitability while meeting customer needs.
- Driving Profitability: Achieve department gross profit and sales volume targets, ensuring efficient goal setting and attainment on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
- Sales Process Oversight: Ensure effective customer follow-up, proper CRM utilization, and adherence to the sales process. Manage internet and inbound sales inquiries and oversee vehicle delivery to meet company and manufacturer standards.
- Customer Focus: Foster a customer-focused sales environment, handle customer complaints promptly, and enforce follow-up protocols for satisfaction and retention.
- Inventory Management: Strategically manage inventory, including appraisals, reconditioning, pricing, and merchandising. Enforce a 75-day turn policy, maintain competitive pricing via vAuto, and ensure accurate, visually appealing online listings.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, motivate, and monitor sales associates. Lead regular training sessions, conduct one-on-one performance reviews, and inspire the team to meet sales goals and generate repeat business.
- Deal Execution: Lead deal structuring to maximize front- and back-end profitability, support sales advisors in customer interactions, and close deals effectively.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to dealership policies, local regulations, and manufacturer standards, including certified pre-owned processes. Maintain key control and enforce operational compliance.

Must-haves
- Three (3) plus years experience as an automotive sales manager
- Desking Deals: Efficiently and proficiently desk multiple deals at once using CDK web-desking. Expertise in CDK or similar systems is highly appreciated. The ability to balance accuracy, speed, and negotiation is essential to maximize deal profitability while meeting customer needs.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, dependability, excellent written and verbal communication, exceptional customer focus, and a positive attitude.
- Exhibits Bill Jacobs’ RISE Core Values: Respect, Integrity, Social Responsibility, and Excellence.
- Must be a competent and strong closer.
- Ability to manage a deal for gross and volume.
- Ability to coach, mentor and lead a team of Sales Advisors of varying levels of experience.
- Must have strong knowledge of CDK Desking, vAuto, CRM systems, and other automotive software.
- Self-driven and motivated to achieve results.
- Process-driven.
- Tech-savvy.
- Comprehensive understanding of laws and policies for compliance.
- Must exhibit strong customer service skills including the ability to communicate clearly, express empathy, and demonstrate active listening skills.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Must be efficient, organized, and detail-oriented.
