The driver provides daily transportation services to individuals living with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who attend the Community Options Group day service.
Typical tasks include of Driver I
- Provide transportation safely for individuals of the Community Options Program to and from the Day Support program.
- Maintain and record travel logs indicating the amount of mileage used daily and record the number of passengers transported daily.
- Refuel the Vehicles.
- Ensure that the Program Vehicles receive the required Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Driver I position requires Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to the satisfactory completion of one year of a college education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This class requires a minimum of three months of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver’s license. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City’s Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving wheelchair-accessible vans.
- Experience providing transportation services to individuals within the human services field, preferably adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to pass CPR, First Aid, TOVA training, and be certified by Modivcare.
