What you will do as the Program Director:
The focus of the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center served individuals with developmental disabilities in need of short-term stabilization.
The Program Director is responsible for complying with all health and safety Medicaid regulations established for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID). Example job duties include:
- Supervision of staff (i.e. granting leave requests, completing performance evaluations, holding staff meetings, disciplinary action).
- Reviewing Unusual Incidents and Restrictive Measure Usage to determine and address trends & patterns.
- Oversees Quality Enhancement initiatives to prepare for regulatory surveys - develops & implements plans of correction for any deficiencies found during surveys.
• Coordinates day programming of individuals served with community providers. • Serves on various committees (i.e. Human Rights, Executive Staff, Policy & Procedure).
- Develops and presents training to new hires, annual requirements and when needed.
- Reviews Ohio Individual Service Plans to ensure are trauma informed and specific to the person.
- Attends Trauma Informed Care Biological Timelines and helps implement program changes based on information learned from the timeline.
- Works with outside parties involved with ensuring quality care is provided to individuals with developmental disabilities (i.e. Disability Rights of Ohio, OCALI, speech & occupational therapists and other consultants) and ensures any recommendations are included in individual plans and implemented.
- Evaluates appropriateness of admissions with other DODD staff, County Boards of DD and stakeholders and develops plans for discharges.
- Conducts frequent rounds of residential and program areas.
- Serves as the Acting Superintendent. Non-traditional hours are expected in order to be available to all three shifts, including occasional weekends. A company cell phone is required to respond to issues outside of normal business hours.

Completion of graduate core program in social or behavioral sciences, public administration, or health care administration; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in ICF/IID Medicaid standards in an ICF/IID or other residential setting (i.e., nursing facility) or as a provider of Medicaid waiver services in a community or congregate setting; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. experience in budget management (e.g., individual staffing &/or operational expenditures).
- Or completion of graduate core program in business administration or management & a bachelor’s degree in professional human services category (e.g., psychology, education, anthropology); 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in Medicaid standards in an ICF/IID or other residential setting (i.e., nursing facility) or as a provider of Medicaid waiver services in a community or congregate setting; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. experience in budget management (e.g., staffing &/or operational expenditures).
- Or Equivalent Of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment Noted Above.
