Position Summary

The Assistant Retail Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Retail Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the dispensary. This includes managing the sales floor, managing inventory, and providing customer service. The Assistant Retail Store Manager also plays a key role in training and developing new employees.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the sales floor and ensure that customers receive a high level of service.
  • Manage inventory and ensure that product levels are always sufficient to meet demand.
  • Train and develop new employees.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed.
  • Comply with all state and local regulations related to cannabis retail.
  • Behave in a manner that is positive, productive, cooperative, and encourages teamwork.
  • Follows safety guidelines and regulations, champions safety culture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience required.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience required, preferably in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Basic computer skills required; POS software and cash management experience required.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel; knowledge of pivot tables and basic formulas required.
  • Basic math skills including adding and subtraction required.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude required.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.
  • Visual acuity is needed for viewing computer screens and fine print.
  • Manual dexterity needed for performing transactions.

Workplace Environment

  • Busy retail environment with moderate noise level.
  • Indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to seasonal temperature changes.
  • High volume work during peak hours, events, and holidays.
