GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. has an opening for a Human Resources Generalist. This is a full-time, benefitted, exempt, position and for this role, the person can work remotely.


Job Summary: The HR Generalist will perform a variety of tasks supporting the HR function for a federal contracting company with approximately 400 U.S based employees.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR Manager to manage employee relations issues and respond to inquiries regarding company policies and HR related programs
  • Assist with developing and delivering a monthly virtual new hire orientation program.
  • Conduct exit interviews and report on turnover trends and areas of focus.
  • Support compliance efforts by assisting with monitoring adherence to employment laws and other regulatory requirements
  • Prepare separation agreements and coordinate with payroll on processing of payments
  • Assist the benefits team by responding to inquiries, running reports, monitoring enrollments, etc.
  • Administer Learning Management System assignments, course completion, and content?
  • Assist with record audits and mandatory reports, including I-9, Maryland New Hire registry, and OSHA filings?
  • Update and maintain HR content on the company’s SharePoint intranet site?
  • Establish strong and effective working relationships with internal/external customers to promote and support positive employee relations, company culture and employee engagement efforts?
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency in operational and HR procedures.?
  • Support HR projects and perform other tasks as needed?


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources in a corporate environment, with at least 3 as an HR Generalist
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner?
  • Solid knowledge of HR laws and best practices as well as regulatory requirements for a federal contractor
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in an environment with changing priorities and demands?
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with employees at all levels of the organization?
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines?
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office?


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • HR experience with a federal contractor?
  • Experience using Paylocity?
  • Experience in benefits administration
  • HR certification (like SHRM-CP or PHR)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

General physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on location of assignment.

Assignment Location – Remote

  • Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Fingering (typing), communicating, repetitive motions.
  • Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
  • Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
