Human Resources Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resource Assistant will provide day-to-day support for human resource functions of employment and records management, while providing a high level of customer service to employees and applicants. The Human Resources Assistant will assist with the recruitment and onboarding function, ensuring a welcoming new hire experience. This role will also support other HR team initiatives as needed.

Office equipment, automobile.
MINIMUM TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Two (2) years experience in a human resources department.
- Experience with a human resources information system (HRIS), including data entry and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Valid Texas drivers license, auto liability insurance and safe driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in a healthcare environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of principles, practices, and terminology of human resources management and administration, particularly in recruitment, payroll, and benefits administration. Basic knowledge of relevant state and federal laws; exercises judgment in handling sensitive information. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Records Management
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Conducts and acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Monitors license expiration and auto insurance renewal verification and coordinates with employees to receive updated documentation.
- Credentialing of staff to enter partner facilities; at hire and annual renewals.
- Monthly OIG LEIE checks.
- Annual EMR/NAR checks.
- Annual MVR requests.
- Annual EEO-1 Report.
- Chaplain Housing Allowance Forms (at hire & annually).
Onboarding
- Conducts regular new hire orientation.
- Reconciles monthly bills related to employment credentials.
- Coordinates pre-hire drug screen, agility testing, EMR/NAR, verify license/certification.
Employee Engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies to enhance employee satisfaction.
- Promote company values through programs and initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
