Function: The Marketing Generalist is part of the Marketing team and is responsible for supporting various duties of the Marketing Department for the Community Food Bank (CFB). This position produces content relatable to Southern Arizona, assisting with a broad range of marketing activities and collaborating with internal key partners across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts interviews with clients, donors, volunteers, staff, and the public to generate compelling stories.
  • Assists in creating engaging content (written, design, multimedia) for external and internal communications and web as assigned.
  • Supports a broad range of marketing activities, including public relations and communication strategies via traditional and digital channels in multiple languages.
  • Assists all members of the Marketing team with executing public relations activities and monitors communications between CFB and various media outlets, including newspapers, websites, TV/radio stations, internet, and social media.
  • Coordinates and submits print jobs with designated vendors. Tracks orders through to delivery.
  • Processes vendor invoices, secures approvals for Finance, and maintains expense tracking system. Tracks invoices and budgets for translation.
  • Contributes to current photo library of CFB functions and events.
  • Explores and researches new and best avenues for CFB advertising.
  • Maintains relationship with grants team, providing support in needed social media or traditional media outlets to meet conditions of grants provided.
  • Creates illustration and graphic design works as needed.
  • Responsible for creating and preparing analytics reports from Google Analytics.
  • Works on video and motion graphics.
  • Assists in providing social media analysis for required grant reports.
  • Assists in providing graphic design support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of utilizing experiential, content, and social media marketing campaigns and working with media plans.
  • Knowledge of web-based environments (such as CMS, Twitter, Facebook, and blogging software) and working in CMS platforms to maintain and create digital content.
  • Skills in MS Office and adept with Adobe Creative Suite for both print and digital application.
  • Skills in creating and preparing reports in Google Analytics.
  • Ability to write according to the Associated Press Stylebook guidelines.
  • Ability to work without a high-level of direction.
  • Self-motivator and takes initiative.
  • Life-long learner and ability to incorporate new information.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning both internally and externally and incorporating new information into role.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
  • For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Drivers License with a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light Work: Ability to exert 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
