Assistant Controller
7-Eleven
7-Eleven is hiring an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for executing and managing all efforts for the company as related to Financial Planning and Analysis. This Senior Director will manage Consolidation of Forecasts and Budgets for 7-Eleven Incorporated (SEI) to include analysis, insights, and reporting of all financial results throughout each fiscal year. He/She will also oversee 7-Eleven, Inc. (SEI) Capital Planning, lead our Business Analytics Center of Excellence and focus on long term strategic plans.
This role is 100% onsite and based out of our Irving, Texas headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, reports, and forecasts financial performance on an ongoing basis.
- Actively participates in determining the strategic direction for the company and ensures areas of responsibility develop and implements plans to support all strategic goals.
- Formulates and provides long-term business direction and strategies for all areas of responsibility, including challenging current processes and procedures for maximum efficiency and effectiveness of all efforts within areas of responsibility. Facilitates appropriate change to ensure enhancements of processes are in the company’s best interest.
- Oversees development and implementation of career paths for team within areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for SEI Capital Planning, develops long range planning scenarios, and works closely with CFO and other Finance leaders.
- Supports Franchising by establishing fee structure for available store inventory.
- Responsibility for Financial Planning systems, conceptualizing/developing new tools to automate processes.
- Business Expert for Business Insights and data driven Business Analytics Center of Excellence.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s strategic priorities and financial objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or relevant field, Master's Degree preferred, CPA plus
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Finance required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills needed.
- Knowledge of TM1, SQL and VBA scripts a plus.
- Must have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to understand and re-engineer processes through systems implementation and other means such as guiding consultants.
- Strong data analysis and financial modeling capabilities.
- Understanding of data warehouse and basic SQL.
- In-depth knowledge of factors impacting operational performance.
