We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in the Charlotte location. Hours are Day Shift, Monday-Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise Maintenance Team:
- Lead, train, and evaluate a team of maintenance technicians and staff.
- Assign tasks and ensure effective use of resources.
- Provide guidance and technical support to team members as needed.
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all equipment and machinery.
- Manage emergency repairs as required, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues, and determine the most efficient course of action for repairs.
- Oversee the repair or replacement of faulty equipment or systems.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.
- Order necessary parts and materials, maintaining adequate stock levels for smooth operations.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and service trends.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to the management team.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget.
- Control maintenance expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Vendor and Contractor Coordination:
- Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure they meet agreed-upon standards and timelines.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest and implement improvements in maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree in a related field preferred).
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a maintenance environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [specified weight]).
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including hot or cold temperatures and noisy areas.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment.
- Plant is in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Typical hours are during day shift however occasional overtime may be required, depending on operational needs.
