We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in the Charlotte location. Hours are Day Shift, Monday-Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Maintenance Team:
    • Lead, train, and evaluate a team of maintenance technicians and staff.
    • Assign tasks and ensure effective use of resources.
    • Provide guidance and technical support to team members as needed.
  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
    • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all equipment and machinery.
    • Manage emergency repairs as required, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs:
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues, and determine the most efficient course of action for repairs.
    • Oversee the repair or replacement of faulty equipment or systems.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Inventory and Equipment Management:
    • Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.
    • Order necessary parts and materials, maintaining adequate stock levels for smooth operations.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
    • Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and service trends.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to the management team.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
    • Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget.
    • Control maintenance expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
  • Vendor and Contractor Coordination:
    • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or services.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure they meet agreed-upon standards and timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Suggest and implement improvements in maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree in a related field preferred).
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a maintenance environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [specified weight]).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including hot or cold temperatures and noisy areas.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a general manufacturing environment.
  • Plant is in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Typical hours are during day shift however occasional overtime may be required, depending on operational needs.
