Come join the team at Alaska WWAMI, Alaska's Medical School! We are looking for an enthusiastic clinically oriented part time program assistant to join the staff. You will be working primarily with the Foundations of Clinical Medicine program and our Chief Proctor assisting with coordinating clinical curriculum (Foundations of Clinical Medicine, Hospital tutorials, Primary Care Practicum and OSCEs) and assist with other aspects of the program as needed. Credentialing and proctoring first and second year medical students and faculty. Excellent communication skills, experience with Microsoft office and Google suites are essential. Prior experience with LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, Elantra) or medical office experience are a definite plus. This position will require in person attendance on campus.
The WWAMI School of Medical Education is a collaboration among 6 universities in five northwestern states (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) and the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), leading to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) hosts the first 18 months or Foundations phase of the UWSOM medical curriculum for Alaskan students.
Prior MA or CNA or medical office experience will be a plus. This job will involve tracking, coordinating and assisting with set up and breakdown of classes, certifications and credentialing for 30 -60 students and 12 -15 clinical faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Some college coursework and one year experience related to program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; OR three years of progressively responsible office/administrative experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Anchorage campus in Anchorage. This is a part-time (50%), term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
