The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Location: 3175 St Rose Parkway, Henderson, NV

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include patient demographic verification, insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
  • Checking out duties, scheduling future appointments and coordination support for outbound services
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a healthcare office setting
  • 1+ years of experience working with basic office equipment, such as faxes, scanners, copy machines, printers, etc.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and computer software (such as an EMR)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a customer service role
  • Basic knowledge of EMR systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
