Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting senior-level team members by maintaining the company's financial records. This position involves recording journal entries, generating financial reports, and preparing and reviewing various account reconciliations and schedules to ensure precise financial reporting. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will lead a team, offering guidance and oversight to ensure team success. This role also encompasses supporting the global monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting processes. The Senior Accountant will provide expertise in researching, reviewing, and implementing new accounting standards, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

Representative Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and develop the corporate accounting team
  • Assist with the compliance of applicable accounting standards, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and all other applicable regulatory and legal requirements
  • Provide functional expertise related to accounting research by compiling data, preparing schedules, and summarizing findings as needed
  • Perform various month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures within established timelines. This includes the preparation and review of account reconciliations and reports as well as posting of journal entries
  • Analyze Financial Statements for any discrepancies and issues
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual financial statement audit as well as the employee benefit plan audits with external auditors
  • Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
  • Manage or participant in special projects (i.e. systems analysis, analysis of certain accounts, segments, products or parts of the Company), as requested

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting
  • 3 or more years of successful experience leading and managing multiple projects
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership position
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, including in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong accounting research skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Strong problem solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions
  • Experience in a deadline driven environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Office environment
  • Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required
  • Willing to work some weekends if necessary
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)
  • This position has a Hybrid location: Associate will work on-site regularly as needed for work activities.
