Platinum Technologies is seeking a Junior Application Engineer to join our company.  

This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI with the eligibility to obtain a CI/Poly. The position is in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

What You Get To Do.

  • Designs and develops methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured data sources
  • Develops and uses advanced software programs, algorithms, querying, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate datasets and model complex business problems
  • Facilitates the integration of cloud-based data solutions to promote scalability and enhance efficiency, optimizes data processing workflows, and resolves data-related issues
  • Integrates new project data sources with the current USSOCOM data classification and protection tools and platforms, support appropriate data tagging for data used in all projects and assists in implementing data loss prevention measures
  • Implement and monitor database security measures, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards, including encryption, access control, and audit trails
  • Monitor the performance of databases, identifying and resolving issues related to query efficiency, data integrity, and system responsiveness
  • Manage data migrations, upgrades, and patch installations for database systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and full functionality


Required Skills.

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for CI/Polygraph
  • Minimum three (3) + years of experience in application development or engineering
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and cloud-based data solutions
  • Familiarity with data integration, cleansing, and automation tools
  • Solid understanding of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data security protocols
  • Experience with data migration, upgrades, and patch management in complex environments
  • Knowledge of DoD security standards, including encryption, access control, and audit trails
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in data performance and integrity issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and methodologies in a continuously evolving field
