Employment Counsel

Lathrop GPM is actively seeking an employment attorney for our growing employment and higher education practice in our San Jose office. This position is a Counsel role and can be full-time or part-time.

This unique opportunity is for an experienced lawyer who is looking for sophisticated legal work with direct client involvement. Responsibilities will include providing legal support and advice to the firm’s business clients on employment law matters. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of employment law experience (in both advising and litigation roles) including: research, brief writing, preparation of pleadings, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, policy drafting, investigation of complaints, preparation of charge responses, and client advising.

The successful candidate will have an active California law license, strong academic credentials, exceptional analytical and writing abilities, excellent client service skills, outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

The current anticipated salary range is $200,000 - $275,000. Actual initial salary may be above or below the identified range and will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law. A full comprehensive benefit plan is provided and includes health care, retirement plan, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
