The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for a full-time HR Coordinator to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.

The role of the HR Coordinator is to maintain and create various employee files, assist in answering employee questions, follow up with employees for missing paperwork, and assist the Human Resources Director while maintaining a high level of customer service to our employees and managers.

Other duties of the HR Coordinator include:

  • Maintaining/creating files.
  • Following up with employees for any missing documents.
  • Assisting Human Resources Director with special projects.
  • Assisting with new employee orientation and other trainings.
  • Reviewing new hire paperwork for accuracy.
  • Reviewing company policies with new hires.
  • Maintaining onboarding system and updating as needed.
  • Completing computer access forms for new hires and terminations or as needed.
  • Maintaining employee files in accordance with the directions provided.
  • Maintaining I-9 binder.
  • Distributing status change forms for signature.
  • Maintaining spreadsheet for work-related injuries.
  • Entering information in HRIS.

Duties for the Food & Beverage Support Role:

  • Entering data into a purchasing system.
  • Coding invoices.
  • Preparing invoices for submission to accounting.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have previous experience working in human resources (preferred).
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Have the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess organizational skills.
  • Speak with employees in a professional manner.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in job duties.
  • Be able to work in a small and very busy office.
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Demonstrate patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
  • Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
  • Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates.
  • Have effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Have previous experience with an HRIS/Applicant tracking/onboarding system (preferred).
  • Be detail-oriented.
