Director of Business Strategy

Description Of Role

The Director of Business Strategy will be an integral part of the Business Administration, Coordination & Planning Department (“BACP”) at PSE, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Strategy (“SVP”). This role is pivotal in collaborating with cross-functional departments to advance strategic initiatives. The primary objectives are to foster growth, diversify offerings, and expand commercial activities in a controlled and risk-adjusted manner, drawing on insights and directives from both the SVP and the Senior Management team.

Role Objectives

To Achieve Its Objectives, The Director In BACP Will Engage In a Range Of Activities, Including But Not Limited To The Following

• Monitor, analyze, and provide risk-related data to the SVP, facilitating key decision-making in collaboration with commercial desk heads.
• Deliver analytic support to commercial desks, aiding in the structuring of new business initiatives, non-standard transactions, and investment opportunities.
• Facilitate coordination between commercial desks and administrative functions, including support in completing applications for non-standard transactions.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of the annual business plan, budget, and various presentations for shareholder meetings.
• Provide analytic services to the SVP and Senior Management team for strategic diversification initiatives that align with PSE’s business objectives and growth trajectory, encompassing both organic and inorganic initiatives
• Identify new diversification opportunities to enhance PSE’s overall portfolio based on new industry trends or regulatory requirements, synergy with existing commercial activities, and areas with growth potential, including developing execution blueprints and a benefits realization plan.
• Assist with ad-hoc activities as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business strategy, finance, or risk management role.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively presenting to and influencing senior management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects across functional teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.
• Experience in the energy sector, particularly with companies with trading operations in a strategic role focused on market or portfolio diversification.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments and their impacts on business strategies.
• Experience in project management and execution of large-scale projects.
