Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced ABS Welder who possesses a strong background in welding and fabrication. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various welding tasks, primarily on vessels ensuring the highest quality of workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Pay is $35 to $40 per hour depending upon experience.

Responsibilities

• ABS Welding: Perform welding operations on American Bureau of Shipping vessels.
• Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise welding.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing welding tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure proper functionality.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers, fabricators, and project managers, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a welder, with a focus on ABS vessels
• Certifications: American Bureau of Shipping certification
• Technical Skills: Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, with a strong emphasis on ABS welding.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety practices and guidelines in a workshop environment.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
• Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
